I discovered that the hospital staff relied only on western medicine. When I mentioned that a chiropractor had usually been able to put me back together, the staff just looked at me. No comment. I had not realized that chiropractic care was considered to be “alternative healing.”
However, the staff used the tools they knew to run tests, treat my pain, and come up with a series of three diagnoses. At first, they thought I needed back surgery. Fortunately, the eventual treatment was a cortisone shot into a joint. I was so grateful not to need surgery!
I am home now and recovering. I am fairly mobile, but I get tired easily so I’m not pushing myself too hard. For a long time, I could not sit or stand. Now, I am very pleased to be able to sit at my computer and type. I am so happy to walk around. Being upright is a joy!
While I was in the hospital, the staff dealt only with my body. I am a big believer in mind, body, and spirit working together. Fortunately, my mind was in pretty good shape. The piece I needed to bring into the hospital was Spirit, and so I did.
I have the best friends.
One of my psychic/healer/connected friends visited me in the hospital several times. She stood by the side of my bed, praying, and bringing in healing. She asked what, in the larger scheme of things, this episode was about? What was I to learn from two weeks of pain?
Afterwards, we would talk and laugh. She brought joy and humanity into my hospital room . . . as well as delicious cookies!
I was only allowed two visitors at a time. My friend had to leave so my family could visit. The time with my family was great because I had so many stories to share of what was going on in the hospital, plus I was in such a good mood after my buddy had left.
My family pulled together in surprising ways. They supported me and they took care of each other. It was wonderful to see.
Things which I thought might happen, but did not: no NDE (whew! I didn’t want one); no experience of overwhelming unconditional love; no meditations during which I heard from Spirit Guides or angels; none of the spiritual occurrences which you read about on this blog. I was a wee bit disappointed. However, I was pretty sure my body was being healed by non-physical personnel. I could feel them working on my back.
Synchronicities which did happen:
1) While my husband was in my hospital room, an old friend called on his phone to say hello. This guy said he wasn’t sure why he had called. He had just felt that something was up.
2) A few days after I returned home, a psychic friend e-mailed and asked if I wanted a reading. She wasn’t sure why she had felt the need to reach out that day. I think she knew I needed some enlightenment. She did an emotion code clearing for me and it was lovely.
I don’t want to go into too many details, but I will tell you that I spent a long time in the hospital because they were so short-staffed that they couldn’t get me the procedure I needed. They didn’t have many x-ray technicians, and they were overwhelmed by patients who were a higher priority than me. I was very grateful not to be in the “higher priority” category. I had excruciating pain, but I didn’t have broken bones.
The nurses, techs, and food service people were very kind. They went above and beyond to attend to my pain. I want to thank each one of them.
My family and friends were fantastic. They visited, called, texted, and answered my questions. They were so supportive!
My cell phone was a great asset. I was able to research my condition, look up the drugs I was taking, and read the news. In the middle of the night, when I was awake, I had access to the world.
Now that I’m home, I’m wondering why this happened. Was it just a physical thing? Is there a lesson to be learned? Was I ridding myself of old issues? I’m pondering all of it.
In any event, it’s good to be getting back to a normal life. Ah, normal life. Delightful.
