Ways to Learn about Psychics, Spirituality and the Universe
12:47 pm mst
Working on this Project,
I have learned a lot about psychics, psychic phenomena, and how the Universe works. I meditate and think deep thoughts. Perhaps,
one of the reasons I am learning and writing is to explore the ways that people learn, so I can share this information with
other people who also seek a connection with the non-physical world of information. Everything I explore, you can explore
If you have a New Year's Resolution to learn more about the spiritual world, here are some
ideas for learning about psychics, spirituality, and your own gifts.
In addition to talking to the psychics, many fairs
have speakers who discuss what they do and how the Universe works. Look on-line to find a Fair near you and to find out what
services they provide.
IONS is the Institute for Noetic Sciences ("Noetic" means knowing). This organization is based in northern
CA and has groups all of over the world which explore consciousness and seek the intersection of science and consciousness.
They have a website at www.noetic.org. In addition, local groups have their own websites and sponsor local meetings.
In Tucson, the website is www.IONSTucson.net. Each month our local IONS groups presents a lecture, a movie, a book group, a Universal Energy Event (Reiki) and a Psychic
Explorers group. I am part of the Psychic Explorers group and each month we try a new technique just to see what we are capable
of doing. For example, we tried bending spoons with our minds, we tried getting information on something covered with a bag
in the middle of the room, and we tried seeing if we had medical intuition. This is such a fun group!
There are conferences all over the world relating
to consciousness, New Age work, etc. Some are highly scientific, and some are just for fun. A good place to start looking
for these kinds of events is on the IONS website. Explore the Internet and see what you find.
Check with your local university and find out if
there are lectures about the brain and the mind. Or try a beginner's lecture on Quantum Physics (really, it's more
interesting than you might think).
Many psychics offer development classes. They teach Reiki, Tarot card reading, palm reading, past-life regression,
etc. When you meet psychics at Psychic Fairs, ask if they offer classes, or take their card and look them up on-line. In addition,
some people offer weekend retreats full of classes and guided meditations.
churches also offer classes. One church in Tucson offers "unfoldment" classes.
Another good place to start is your local Metaphysical Shop. Most of these shops either sponsor classes or can tell
you who might be teaching a class which interests you.
I haven't tried this yet, but I have heard from friends that there are small
"Meet-up" groups all over the country and some of them discuss spirituality, theories of consciousness, etc. If
you look on-line you can find interesting groups in your area.
You can start with your local library and check
out books written by psychics. These books explain how individual psychics connect to the Universe. There are also books about
life after death, why we are here, and how you can contact your own Spirit Guides.
Earlier this year I read a light-hearted book entitled, "Do Dead People Watch You Shower?" by Concetta
Bertoldi (2008). I liked this book because each page posed a question then answered the question. I enjoyed reading the question,
formulating my own answer, then seeing if the psychic and I were thinking the same way. If you are looking for something more
scientific, Gary E. Schwartz has written several books about his experiments with psychics. One of the books I read was "The
Afterlife Experiments (2002)." Another book which changed my way of thinking was, "Conversations with God, an uncommon
dialogue," by Neale Donald Walsch (1995).
There are plenty of national Psychology and New Age magazines. In addition, there are free, local papers around the
United States entitled, "Natural Awakenings." These publications list local psychic fairs and events. They also
include interesting articles about new age topics and health. You can find them in libraries and metaphysical shops.
Talking to psychics
about what they do is my favorite way of learning. I find that listening to real experiences means more to me than anything
else. Psychics live between worlds and they have fascinating stories to share.
Of course, you can also talk to psychics about your own life. That's called a Psychic Reading. If you want to
find out what is real, talking about your life and what you know, is the fastest way to get there. Besides, readings are all
about "me, me, me, me, me." I love that!
You might be pleasantly surprised if you asked your friends if they have ever experienced psychic phenomena. Have
they seen a ghost or felt a deceased relative? Again, listening to people with this kind of direct experience really opens
my mind. In addition, your friends may have recommendations for psychics with whom they have had great readings.
Try it yourself!
Sit quietly, close your eyes and see what happens. Stay with it for 10 or 15 minutes each day and try it for a few
Reiki (or any kind of energy work)
Try Reiki at
a psychic fair. It's very relaxing.
Listen to Blog Talk Radio and
other Internet Radio Programs
These programs present speakers
on New Age topics. In the past, Oprah radio had terrific interviews with people in this field although the last time I checked,
I could only hear part of the interview, not the whole thing. Maybe that has changed.
When it comes to TV, you have to distinguish between fiction
and non-fiction. There have been some great non-fiction shows and interviews regarding spirituality. A few years ago, I was
able to watch John Edward's show "Crossing Over" on TV (John Edward the Medium, not John Edwards the Politician).
John's show moved to a channel I don't have so I don't know if it is still on TV. However, I enjoyed watching
John do readings, the fact that they checked with the people afterwards to corroborate the meaning of the readings, and the
explanations John gave for how being a Medium worked. He explained what he connected with and how he had to interpret the
things he saw. This show opened my eyes to what it is like to work as a Medium.
A few weeks ago I found a new show on the Biography channel entitled, "I Survived . . . the Beyond." On
this show, people who have died and been revived tell their stories. While each story is different, I am fascinated by what
they say they experienced on the other side. The show's pace is a bit slow, but I always love to hear about real experiences
which are happening to real people. This show airs on Sunday evening.
are also fascinating shows about Psychic Kids. Check your local TV listings.
the fiction side, the shows "Medium" and "Ghost Whisperer" gave a hint of what it is like to be psychic
but, of course, things had to be magnified and sensationalized, so take them at face value (that means, they are entertainment,
Search the Internet
There are so many websites about psychics I can't list them all here. All I can say is try to find an educational
blog, not just an advertisement. Try to find real people's experiences. Check out blogs written by psychics. In addition,
Facebook has groups for people exploring psychic ability.
Oh yes, remember
my favorite website: http://www.MyPsychicSearch.com Always interesting!
Go to Movies
Be cautious of Hollywood's fictional movies because they take a gem of truth and sensationalize it. However,
I am sure there are some good movies too, I just don't go to movies very often. I know that there are lots of good documentaries.
So, that is the list off the top of my head. Have you tried anything
I haven't listed? Do you have a recommendation for a great book? Let me know by sending an e-mail to gail@MyPsychicSearch.com
Happy New Year!

Each weekday morning, I receive an uplifting "Note
from the Universe." I want to share today's note with all of you who are on this journey with me:
"If it's not yet obvious to you, the real reason for this, and
all seasons, is you. A more perfect child of the Universe has never lived. Until now, only celebrations cloaked in myth and
mystery could hint at your divine heritage and sacred destiny. You are life's prayer of becoming and its answer. The first
light at the dawn of eternity, drawn from the ether, so that I might know my own depth, discover new heights, and revel in
seas of blessed emotion.
"A pioneer into illusion,
an adventurer into the unknown, and a lifter of veils. Courageous, heroic, and exalted by legions in the unseen.
"To give beyond reason, to care beyond hope, to love without limit;
to reach, stretch, and dream, in spite of your fears. These are the hallmarks of divinity - traits of the immortal - your
badges of honor. May you wear them with a pride as great as the immeasurable pride we feel for you.
"Your light has illuminated darkened paths, your gaze has lifted broken spirits,
and already your life has changed the course of history.
is the time of year we celebrate you.
Thoughts become things... choose the good ones!®
If you are interested in receiving a personal, e-mailed, "Note
from the Universe," you can subscribe for free at www.tut.com. I like the notes and I think you will like them too! Happy Holidays!

Can psychics contact our loved ones who have crossed to the other side?
2:55 pm mst
it comes to life and death, the "big picture" information from the psychics is actually quite consistent. They may
differ on the details, but there is total agreement about the continuity of life after physical death. Life, learning, death,
integrating, and life again . . . . So, if our loved ones still exist on the other side, can we contact them? The psychics'
answer is "Yes."
Psychic Mediums contact our loved ones directly. They
ask their client for a name, then try to contact the deceased person. In addition, psychics with other specialties often receive
messages from deceased relatives during readings. It's not that these psychics put out a call to any particular person,
it's just that people who have messages show up and become an aspect of the reading.
told me, "I talk to loved ones. That is my specialty. When a person sits down, I ask them what they want to know or if
they have someone specific that they want to talk to who has crossed over. If there is someone who they want to talk to, I
ask for that person's name. Then, I take a quiet moment to see if I can contact that person."
This woman added that she had always had some psychic abilities, but in her 40s she had experienced a great trauma
which had brought forward her abilities as a Medium. She started hearing things she had never heard before. Her experience
was similar to what happened to Whoopi Goldberg's character in the movie Ghost: suddenly she started hearing
a lot of information from people who had crossed over.
Another Medium explained, "I connect
with the Holy Spirit and I can connect with people who have passed on. I call myself a ‘Holy Spirit Communicator.'
We talk to angels, masters (Spirit Guides), and people who have passed on, and they like to talk to us!"
of the psychics commented that the energy of a person or animal who has passed was very different. She felt "swirly"
as if she had been spinning in circles and then trying to stand still. It was like having vertigo. She could tell that she
had connected with someone who had passed on when she got that feeling.
Other psychics told me
that when they did readings, they tapped into a source of information which provided whatever advice or validation the client
needed to hear. If the client needed to hear from someone who had passed on, that person would come through during the reading.
In addition, random spirits might show up because they saw an opening to get their messages through to a person on this side.
Even psychics can be awestruck by their ability to see spirits who have crossed and to relay
messages from deceased entities. They are sometimes surprised that these spirits choose to continue to be involved with their
loved ones on Earth. Mainly, they are pleasantly surprised when they can clearly see and hear the deceased.
As for my personal experiences, I have had deceased friends and relatives come through during readings. One of the
interesting things is that the person with the outgoing personality on earth was still outgoing on the other side. The person
who was quiet here, was quiet there. And the person with a sense of humor here, still had a sense of humor there.
These are examples of the kinds of messages I have received:
One woman told
me how well I was doing and that she was proud of me.
One man told me
that he was sorry he was not able to do more for me or tell me how proud he was of me when he was alive.
One man told me that he was sorry he had never dated a particular friend of mine. He had always had a crush on her.
Two psychics told me that my father had built a rocking horse for me
(but I don't remember any rocking horse. It was just interesting that more than one person picked this up).
One person told me that a deceased neighbor "from the old neighborhood" was watching over me. (I think
I know who this person is.)
Several times the names "Loreen,"
"Irene" and "Noreen" have come through. My deceased mother-in-law's name is Irene.
Are these messages so general that they could apply to anyone or did my one friend really feel badly about not dating
the other friend?
I like to think that we are still connected to the people and pets who we have
loved. I find comfort thinking that they still check in with me and are proud of what I am doing. What about you? Have you
contacted deceased loved ones or had them come through during readings?
I love ideas and possibilities.
Connecting with the other side is one of my favorite concepts.
Let me know what you think.

The After Life
12:22 pm mst
I want to pick up a thread that I was writing about
a few months ago: the after life. There are a few posts in October about what happens at the moment of death and where souls
go after they have passed. I also asked the psychics, What do people do between lives?
According to the psychics, when a person dies their soul leaves their body, yet the soul lives on. One of the psychics
commented that life after death can be similar to life here on Earth, but that it is heightened. Most of the psychics remarked
that we don't have physical bodies on the other side, we have ethereal bodies. We are energy. We can do things with our
minds and our energy. It's a thought world where people communicate telepathically. There is no time, and space is different.
People don't take up as much space as they do here on Earth.
One psychic provided this
description of the other side:
"Everyone has a job. There is no eating or sleeping, unless you want to, but
you figure out that you don't need to eat or sleep. People are busy doing pretty much what they were doing here. The other
side is just like Earth. The landscape is very similar and you can learn how to play the piano or sing, or you can attend
lectures. People do research and begin planning their next life. You can even go to a party. You can be a teacher or a librarian.
You can take care of animals or help people who are transitioning."
In addition, people who
were in bad situations here, may still have to work through those problems on the other side.
psychic commented that right now is a busy time for both sides because we are all working toward the same goal: having the
people on Earth ascend to new dimensions. Many souls want to go to the other side right now because they feel that they can
help from that side.
Do the psychics remember what they did between lives?
Several of the psychics remember meetings which they had on the other side where they planned this lifetime
and developed contracts for this life. Yes, we agree to contracts before entering this realm.
of the psychics had this more-personal memory:
"I have memories from before I
was born. I was waiting to jump. It was a cloud embankment of some kind and I was talking to my sister. We were really good
friends on the other side. I said, "See you in a little bit," and she said, "Okay." I was only 15 months
old when she was born, and it felt really good to see her again. We were close until my Mom died; we haven't been as close
since then. We will be close again on the other side."
Do Heaven and
When I asked this question a few times (but not to everyone), no one seemed
to think that Heaven and Hell were actual, physical places. They thought that Heaven and Hell were religious constructs, but
that people could believe in them so strongly that they could actually create these illusions. This is similar to what came
through during a psychic channeling event when we were told that, "Whatever the mind is feeling with energy, it is able
to create around it."
One psychic noted, "I think people can get stuck in their belief
systems. I think that Hell was created by various religions as a means to control people through fear. People are creators
and people created it. But I don't believe there are devils or people trying to take your soul."
Another psychic responded to the question of whether Heaven and Hell exist with, "Only in the sense that Heaven
would be out there and Hell might be here on Earth. Not that we were thrown down here, biblically. I don't believe in
Heaven in the biblical sense. Hell could be our life here, making restitution, taking care of Karma, learning lessons. Basically,
we are here to learn lessons and it really doesn't have anything to do with a biblical version of burning in Hell."
According to a third psychic,
"Heaven is like a thousand-story building.
Everyone gets in unless they have killed themself, but they might be in the sub-basement, depending on how many levels they
have experienced in their own life. The more lives that a person has had where s/he has done hard lessons, the higher up they
would be in the building. Heaven is really whatever people want it to be; it's spiritual enlightenment; it's being
one with G-d. Heaven might be a dinner table with loved ones. However, after a while, souls feel drawn to more learning. It's
boring to be in perfection all the time.
"At that time, souls can
choose to reincarnate. If they stay on the other side, it's harder to move up the ladder because it's harder to learn
lessons. It's much easier to learn lessons on Earth. The lessons are harder here, but it is easier to learn them. When
a person says a prayer here, it goes out to the universal consciousness and is multiplied billions of times, so one prayer
can help billions of people. On the other side, they are not able to pray in the same way. On the other side, everyone loves
everyone else. It is easy to pray for people you like. On Earth, it's hard to love people you don't like. If you can
pray for the people you don't like, you are doing well."
Ah, so many things
to ponder . . .
If you have any thoughts about the after life, or remember your own experiences,
please send them to me at gail@MyPsychicSearch.com.
P.S. I have received a couple of comments about the reference to suicide. This
is just one person's information on this topic. If I asked many psychics about suicide, I might get a range of answers.
